If you haven’t moved your website over to a responsive grid system you could be heading for trouble. There are exceptions to not having a responsive website.

- You have no competitors
- You have an understanding or responsive website implementation and you still believe you don’t need it.

Some companies have decided to create a complete separate application to fit mobile and tablet devices. Alot of people in South Africa are new to the word responsive website design but believe you me it is very important. Responsive website design is when a website adjusts to fit on a desktop pc, table and smartphone internet browsers. So when you looking at a desktop website when you open it on a smartphone itsa zoomed in version with elements that have been removed or added for viewing. A responsive website design looks good no matter whether you’re looking at it on a phone, tablet, or desktop.
Mobile vs. Desktop.
Mobile is said to overtake fixed Internet access by 2014”. 85% of the internet in South Africa is searched with smart devices and tablet devices. This does not mean that desktop is fading away, we will always have laptops but society is so hooked on there smart devices you need to take your opportunities and get your products out there.
Responsive Website Design, What Does It Cost?
If you have a relatively simple brochure website for your business, modifying your existing website to be responsive design may cost you as little as several thousand rands to perhaps a few tens of thousand’s. That is assuming the design lends itself to becoming responsive. But if you haven’t redesigned your website in several years chances are you’ll need to go through a complete redesign process and the answer to what it will cost is, as usual, “it depends.” If you have a vendor you work with you on your website, simply ask them if it’s possible to overhaul your existing website to be responsive, and what it will cost.
